Two Phase Conversion Process

At Phoenix Information Systems, we take a different approach to data conversion services. We understand that information is the key to success in any business and converting information from one system to another should be done with care to insure the best possible results. There are no guarantees when converting data from application to application, however, our Two Phase Conversion Process reduces the opportunity for surprise. This process gives you the chance to review the information before utilizing the data in your daily operations.

1. To begin this process, we obtain a copy of your data and program files. We can restore information from a variety of tape drives, zip drives and floppies.
   
2. When your data is received, our product support team goes to work restoring your data onto our system. Note: Your data is 100% safe with us. Once the conversion is complete, we return or destroy the information from your store. We do not retain a copy of your information.
   
3. We then create reports and spool them to disk so that our data conversion team can begin writing programs to convert your old data to the CVS or TURNS format.
   
4. Once the data conversion is performed, we send you a copy of the pre-converted data for review.
   
5. You load the data onto a computer, along with the CVS or TURNS POS software, and begin reviewing your pre-converted data.
   
6. If you find there are changes you would like, you simply contact our product support team. Our team will go over the changes with you and discuss what the possibilities are and forward the information to our data conversion staff.
   
7. Our programmers will make the possible changes that you request and send you a copy of the revised data.
   
8. At this point, you should review the information again, be sure to take the time to go over the same items you did in the first check. These last four steps may be repeated as many times as necessary to finalize your conversion.
   
9. Once you are satisfied with the information that will be retrieved, you may schedule a live conversion. We have many customers going live with data each week, so it is important that we schedule our resources to be available to you when you are ready to go live.
   
10. You send another backup of your system (overnight service or via modem) to arrive on your scheduled conversion day.
    
11. We convert your data utilizing the programs and configurations used in the last pre-convert.
    
12. We ship you the data overnight or place it on our BBS for download via modem.
    
13. You install the data onto your system and begin using the industry’s best point-of-sale program.
